Lesson: 8 - Aspect ratio, resolution and Vector Images

Purpose: Students learn about aspect ratio, image resolution and vector images.

1 - (Time : 1:30 minutes, 10 laptops/desktops, Students strength : 15 to 20).

Materials Required

Laptop, Mobile, webcam and Digital camera.

Prior knowledge

Students should know to click pictures using the camera in the laptop and pixels.

Teacher's Instruction
  1. Ask the students to find out the mobile phone’s screen resolution.
  2. Ask them to change their own captured image aspect ratio to 16:9.
  3. Ask them why we mention the laptop screen resolution is 16:9?
  4. Ask them if we use a camera to capture an image, if the camera lens is a circle, why is a picture rectangle?
